Nextant Aerospace (an affiliate of Flight Options) recently certified its modifications to Hawker’s Beechjet 400A by installing the new Williams FJ44-3AP engines and Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite, among other improvements. This amazing modification improves the rant by 50% and reduces the operating costs by 30%.
The Beechjet has already demonstrated its reliability, ease of maintenance and sturdiness of airframe, but these modifications make a strong case for giving the Beechjet a second look if you’re considering buying a CJ3, CJ4, Phenom 300 or other Citations. The purchase price is nearly half of some competitors.
Evidently, Hawker Beechcraft took notice of these modifications and they are now offering a modification they call the Hawker 400XPR. The Hawker 400XPR offers improved range and airfield performance, while reducing noise footprint and emissions by replacing their existing Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308A engines with new Williams International FJ44-4A-32 dual FADEC high-bypass turbofans, The upgrade also includes the installation of winglets and an optional modernized flight deck.
